Music + Poetry in the Redwoods

When: Wed., Sept. 4, 5:30-7 p.m. 2013
Price: $5 for kids, $12 for adults
Is there anything more stereotypically (and idyllically) Berkeley than sitting underneath redwood trees and listening to an interactive poetry and music performance? This Wednesday evening, the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden (200 Centennial Dr.) will host Music + Poetry in the Redwoods in its Redwood Grove Amphitheater, which will feature poets Keith Ekiss, Jennifer Foerster, and Tess Taylor reading from their works, buttressed by a trio of musicians that will play short sets. The musicians — led by Rob Reich on accordion — may also have some “interactive moments” with the poets, playing a few notes as they read. Bring a picnic and luxuriate in the shadows of the giants as you enjoy the lyrical stylings of these performers.
