Murders Linked to Gambling?

There's something sinister behind the murders of Castlewood Country Club residents Ernest Scherer Jr. and Charlene Adendroth. In addition to being a real estate developer and Republican Party activist, it turns out that Scherer liked to play "high-stakes poker," according to the Chron. And his son is a full-time professional poker player. Now that the couple have been found horribly beaten and murdered in their country club home, one inevitably starts thinking: gambling debts. Did too much time in Vegas seal their fate?
