Munakataya Pop-Up

On Monday, Perle Wine Bar is getting a guest chef from Hong Kong. It’s none other than Meter Chen of Munakataya, a Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong that specializes in seafood don, or seafood over rice. Munakataya’s version comes precariously piled into a mountain of at least nine types of sashimi, including horse mackerel, sea bream, squid, and young yellowtail — plus an appetizer of hamachi with sesame sauce to start things off. Guests have three ways to eat their seafood don. Eat it as is, or fold the sashimi and rice into pieces of nori. Alternatively, toward the end of the bowl, guests can add seafood broth and enjoy the leftover rice like a porridge. Seatings are available at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Get tickets on Eventbrite.
