"MoFos: True Stories of Mothers & Fathers"

When: Thu., June 6, 7:30-9:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $15 advance, $20 at the door

Embarrassing stories starring our moms and dads can seem traumatic until the moment they are sculpted by a funny narrative and shared with a bunch of other people doing the same. That is the beauty of The Moth-style storytelling seshes and is the premise behind "MoFos: True Stories of Mothers & Fathers" at Awaken Café (1429 Telegraph Ave., Oakland), featuring an all-star cast of over-sharers willing to spill their guts about the sources of their Daddy problems. With Glynn Washington, host of NPR's "Snap Judgment"; Bay Area comedian Tony Sparks; The Moth's own Joey Xanders; and many others. The event kicks off a new Oakland-based series called BustingOut Storytelling, sure to bring a whole lot else to light as well.
