In theory, CDs give much better sound quality than Vinyl and they do not wear out with use. You can also skip tracks on them, copy them easily and make mix CDs, and play a full 80 minutes without flipping. Obviously, a much better format. But in real life, modern CDs lose 90% of their dynamic range because the music is clipped and compressed so that it sounds louder when played on the radio. An actual CD from the current era has much worse sound quality than Vinyl. Google for "loudness war."

This (the destroying of music to try and be more successful at marketing) is what happens when the suits are in charge instead of the musicians. The only way we will get music with full dynamic range is by the death of the corrupt music industry.
