Asian horror films, no matter how scary they are onscreen in their native languages, tend to make for terrible adaptations something Hollywood hasnt yet figured out.
Mirrors (based on Sung-ho Kims
Into the Mirrors) is the latest to suffer for this cinematic ignorance. Keifer Sutherland stars as a boozy ex-NYPD cop looking for redemption as a mall security guard because, you know, thats where you go for redemption. Of course, the mall is possessed; gory images appear in its mirrors and soon follow the mall cop home to his family. The building used to house an asylum, after all what did you expect? Youd probably expect entertainment, too, but dont look for it here (110 min.).
