Yes, Susan, there is a Santa Claus. Town Hall Theatre Company's contribution to the seasonal glut of Christmas shows this year is the stage version of Miracle on 34th Street, the classic film about a department store Santa Claus who just may be the real McKringle. This theatrical adaptation by Will Severin, Patricia Di Benedetto Snyder, and John Vrecke is based on the 1947 novel by Valentine Davis, who also wrote the screenplay of the film that came out the same year. Town Hall's production features Arthur Atlas as the alleged Mr. Claus and ten year old Olivia Hytha as skeptical tot Susan, directed by frequent Contra Costa County musical theater performer Eric Neiman. Nov. 15 through Dec. 29 at Town Hall Theatre Company, or 925-283-1557.
