Re: “Exclusive: Oakland’s Big New Pot Plan

Well here we are again. Oakland's corrupt medical cannabis machine starts up the bidding once more. So many things can be said for Oakland's medical cannabis licensing process. The main one being corrupted. In 2004 the dispensaries were licensed on merit's. During that period 4 facilities were licensed The Bulldog Café, C.A.R.E, Compassionate Caregivers and Oakland Compassionate Healing Center. These facilities all dating back to 2000 and older. During this time Jeff Jones formerly of the Oakland Compassionate Buyer Cooperative decided to form a group called the Oakland Cannabis Alliance. This group was formed by Mr. Jones to express his intentions for Oakland and to find the weaknesses of others. Only three meetings occurred. Shortly after the group was dissolved Mr. Jones spearheaded the notion of Re-licensing. Forcing Compassionate Caregivers and Oakland Compassionate Healing Center to close due to locations issues only. The process had gotten so corrupted assistant city administrators Larry Carroll and Barbara Kiley supposedly both retired due to their lack of willingness to be involved with the bad politics. For several years only two dispensaries functioned in Oakland, The Bulldog Café and C.A.R.E. The bulldog being owned by Richard Lee and Jeff Jones of the Oaksterdam University and C.A.R.E. which was owned by a fine couple of individuals, "not to be named" and Jeff Jones. You see Jeff Jones had a federal order not to be involved in cannabis. Yet Jeff Jones facilities were the only ones functioning for years, generating millions in revenues. Oh and the second round of licensing was both graded and signed off on by the former corrupt city council member and city administrator, Deborah Edgerley. The Third Round of licensing brought the Purple Heart, a dispensary constantly in contention with the city and Harborside Healthcare. Harborside was founded by a spunky yet aggressive hash salesman named Steve De Angelo . These two licenses were issued without much contention as the city assistant administrator Barbara Kiley gave out a list of specific addresses that were able to be licensed. Such as the building site where Harborside Healthcare is located, Which also houses ABC Security known to be owned by former city council member and power pusher Ignacio de la Fuentes. Rumor has it the former councilman owns a portion of rights to the property Harborside Healthcare sits on. Just as he originally owned interest in the sites where C.A.R.E, the Bulldog Café and the Oakland Compassionate Buyer Cooperative where located. That's right if you do your research Jeff Jones and Ignacio de la Fuentes have always been a political match made in heaven. Of course now a days Dale Sky Jones stands in his place. But I'm sure his connections haven't faded. Jeff Jones the man who claims to have had his own best buddy Don Duncan busted, "to keep him in check". The Fourth round of licensing brought out all the snakes. Several that are being indicted and undoubtedly sharing all the juicy details with the feds. After all you can never trust a snake. The fourth round brought so many sneaky unethical ways for the "chosen" to discredit their competition, allowing certain players to circumvent the merit based process. Enter Mickey Martin so called "Cannabis Warrior". The online news site "ThePuffingtonhost.com" was paid for by Derek Peterson. An individual who was involved with several different corporations trying to get licensed. One of which got a license, BLUM. Derek Peterson and his corporation Terra Tech are known to have been and still are involved with BLUM. The sellout "Cannabis Warrior" Mickey Martin was employed to write scandalous articles about all other applicants. These scandalous unproven allegations were then submitted to the assistant city administrator Arturo Sanchez. These articles were then added to the city licensing process for each group smeared without any corroboration. Allowing the city to cull the herd down to a hand full of players destined for licensing. Many corporations and their members were denied not due to lack of merit but instead lack of connections. ThePuffingtonhost.com was disbanded and much of its articles deleted after the licenses were issued to hide the evidence of manipulation and stories were created to protect its purpose. 2015 So many years after the first licenses were issued and now the cannabis commission recommends free markets. Just like the free markets that existed in Oakland before the licensing process was ever initiated. Jeff Jones is attempting to get his injunction dropped so who can openly own stocks and take his wanted roll in the community. And everyone has a chance once again.... Wait all the current dispensary owners are banding together to stop free enterprise. These current license holders demanding the city skip adding dispensary licenses or limit their numbers severely. Their reasoning is that the city should protect their market from competition. This Cartel of dispensary owners have even hired Mickey Martin as their spokesperson and are hiring lobbyists as well. Even the lowly hash salesman gone cannabis tycoon, Steve De Angelo isn't down to share with his fellow patients. If history repeats itself money and corruption will rule the process and undoubtedly more investigations and indictments will follow. Just so a few select business owners can manipulate an entire industry. These same corrupt business owners who have now gotten so large that they are manipulating licensing in entire states like Nevada, Ohio and even our own California.
