Mexican Indepedence Day Buffet Critics' Pick Staff Pick

When: Tue., Sept. 16, 6 p.m. 2008

Independence is pretty much always worth celebrating. At the International HouseDining Commons (2299 Piedmont Ave., Berkeley), Mexico's independence from Spain is celebrated every September 16 with a vast, all-you-can-eat multicourse buffet featuring Mexican culinary favorites, from salad to dessert. It marks the day of El Grito, when Father Hidalgo rang his church bell to start the revolution. 6 p.m. IHouse.berkeley.edu
