Re: “Merritt College Nursing Woes

Really? I'm embarrassed by all of this complaining! Now there is an ARTICLE that is discussing OUR future as the class of 2010. "Appeared qualified" and "typically does not attract top-tier students" ??? I’m sorry, but I have what it takes to be a nurse, which includes keeping my mouth shut and doing whatever it takes to succeed. I’ve sacrificed a lot to be here, and I certainly wasn’t going to quit whent things got tough. Sure the textbook is off, and there just isn’t enough time to lecture every detail. Adult learners, remember?
What part of orientation did our instructors not make clear? "74.9% is not a 75%?" It was crystal clear to me, so I did what it took to make the grade. I appreciate that your lives are on hold one more year, but why didn't you take the golden opportunity when it was available? All I saw was 59 people give up and spend more time complaining than studying for the third exam.
"Merrittsucks?" "PleaseshutdownMerritt?" What's wrong with you? It’s done, and from what I've heard, this situation isnt' very far from what other institutions go through every year when they have to let go of 74.9% crowd. Seriously, shut Merritt down? Grow up.
So, why doesn’t East Bay Express interview the successful students who will be continuing in the program? If they’d like to balance their completely biased review of the situation, I’d be happy to give you the side of the story from a student who made it.

Merritt College ADN 2010, student & proud of it!
