We’ve all seen TV news “experts” who deny climate change, debunk health warnings, and generally apologize for large corporations who make money selling products that damage people and the environment. But who are they? Who do they work for? This sizzling “outrage doc” by
Food, Inc. maker Robert Kenner answers most of those questions. And the culprits are companies and industries we might expect. Still, it’s useful to watch all the shills lined up in a row, earning $300,000 for a single broadcast appearance, casting doubt on scientific data, protecting somebody’s profits. The net effect of Kenner’s exposé is disheartening. It’s not very difficult to manipulate entire segments of the population. This documentary is more terrifying than any horror movie (96 min.).
