More than three decades after it first opened its doors, Massimo’s is still one of the swankest spots in Fremont. The new chef, who specializes in creative, seasonal Californian cuisine, has updated the restaurant’s staid 1970s-era menu, leaving the best of the classics and adding in regional Italian touches. He has left the Caesar salad, though, one of the last ones to be prepared tableside in the Bay Area.
