Mark Vickness One Day Only Staff Pick

When: Wed., April 10, 8 p.m. 2019
Price: $16.00-$20.00
Glass House is a hard to categorize duo made up of vocalist David Worm and guitarist Mark Vickness. Both Oakland residents have unique talents that make this combo more than the sum of its parts. Worm was a founder/member of Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra and the a cappella super group, SoVoSo. He’s also an in-demand session singer, songwriter, and vocal percussionist. His dynamic high tenor makes every word he sings ring with sincerity. Vickness played classical piano for six years, before discovering rock and roll and switching to guitar. His musical horizons quickly expanded as he played with folk, funk, jazz, bluegrass and world music ensembles. He’s studied sitar and tabla and brings his varied disciplines to bear when he accompanies Worm on an eight-string guitar that he designed himself. Glass House will be opening for another duo, world-class guitarist Don Ross and his bass playing sidekick, Michael Manring.
