Re: “NYC, by Way of Danville

Hi Guys; I was part of the East Village scene in early eighties. i bought a Michael Roman shirt (bright yellow sleeveless wing tipped tuxedo shirt with blood red skulls and skeletons.) Loved his skull work at Danceteria adorning the staircases. I sat for artists because I was a dancer and loved them all. Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Edward Brezinski, Peggy Cyphers, Mark Kostabi, Keiko Bonk and have collected other artists since. I like art that makes a statement. Political or otherwise controversial topics. Being a Canadian living in New York I can't understand why Canada is so much further ahead in Civil rights (i.e. Gay Marriage, National Healthcare, Gay Men & Women in the military.) The inequality in these United States for any minority is so unfortunate for the contributions all of the citizens can make. We are global and the United States is not embracing this paradigm. I want to give Michael energy to really make a difference. Creating is a positive influence and should be embraced for all to share. I REMEMBER AND GIVE LOVE TO ALL.
