Rated PG-13 · 109 minutes · 2009

It's got one of the worst titles to hit your local theater in years, and the movie itself is almost as bland. Thanks is mostly due to the miscasting of Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston, who share about as much chemistry as the Clintons. Eckhart is Burke (yes, that’s his first name), a grief guru who’s ascended to that position thanks to a book he wrote about dealing with the accidental death of his wife. Problem is, he’s never actually dealt with the grief. At least not effectively. But then he meets Eloise (Aniston), and things begin to change. Some sappy, mostly manipulative drama follows with very little romance. Martin Sheen makes a welcome appearance as Burke’s father-in-law (109 min.).
