Actress Ludivine Sagnier (the Mesrine films, The Girl Cut in Two, Swimming Pool) gives one of her best performances in this seductively nasty “business-world” thriller about a picked-on junior executive who tries to deal with her predatory boss (Kristin Scott Thomas). It’s a fitting swan song for filmmaker Alain Corneau (1943-2010), whose filmography is littered with provocative stories of stressed inter-personal relations (Série noire, Tous les matins du monde, ear and Trembling, etc.). Sagnier and Scott Thomas have the sort of anti-chemistry that nightmares are made of. Directed by Corneau from a screenplay he wrote with Nathalie Carter. (106 min.)
Director: Alain Corneau
Producer: Saïd Ben Saïd
Cast: Ludivine Sagnier, Kristin Scott Thomas, Patrick Mille, Guillaume Marquet, Gérald Laroche, Julien Rochefort and Olivier Rabourdin
