Los Mapaches

Singing mostly in Spanish, the forty-plus young musicians comprising Los Mapaches play such Latin American instruments as the paya, antara, zampoña, tarka, quena, and charango. Their director, Lydia Mills, grew up in a folk-music-playing family and has lived all over Central and South America. This East Bay-based group performs at the Oakland Library's César E. ChávezBranch (3301 E. 12th St., Oakland) to celebrate César Chávez Day on Saturday, March 29. 1 p.m. OaklandLibrary.org
