Re: “Politicians Go to Bat for BART Unions

BART's labor is only 28% of the yearly budget. BART's management only let's the public know about ( from what I've been reading ) 4 jobs classifications that they say are overpaid. What about the other classifications? What is there pay? Is everyone at BART overpaid? I think not. I know for a fact that they are having problems hiring the skills positions at BART! I'm an electrician working out of the hall. I make about $4.00 an hour more than they do and have benefits that are close to there's I couldn't aford to work for their wage. I've done some investigating their com tech are grossly underpaid according to others not working for BART. So before bashing ALL BART workers find out the facts. If BART is so broke why have the spent over 1 billion dollars in new construction projects? Where is all the money? The people should demand they open the books and question them about where it's all going. I know if my income is dropping I wouldn't be spending anything until I can afford it. There's money there. Not saying the unions should get a raise, but there is alot we don't know. Management loves to make unions look bad, that's all what's going on here. After talking to some BART employees I understand more. I think you should talk to some and
ake your own conclusions.
