Live Oak Park Fair

When: Sat., June 13, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sun., June 14, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 2009
Price: free

Two blues acts, a fusion-y "world jazz" trio, and a ukulele-strumming indie rocker will convene at the weekend's Live Oak Park Fair, which also features a giant bazaar with ceramics, woven apparel, paintings, handmade furniture, jewelry, accessories, hemp soaps, body oils, and odd apothecary products. One of this year's highlights is the aforementioned ukulele player, an adorable ex-punk who filched her stage name from William Henry Harrison's presidential campaign in 1840. (His slogan, "Tippycanoe and Tyler Too," referred to a battle in which Harrison prevailed -- "Tyler too" was a nod to his running mate John Tyler.) Formerly a drummer for the rock band Kirby Grips, Tippy Canoe switched to ukulele about six years ago and has remained a local hit ever since. Live Oak Park Fair happens on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14 at Live Oak Park (1301 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley). 10 a.m.-6 p.m., free. LiveOakParkFair.com
