Linda Joy Myers

When: Sun., Jan. 27, 2 p.m. 2008
Price: free

Cousin Josh wouldn't like it if you described his eating habits with 100 percent accuracy. And when your ex finds out that you were secretly videotaping her workouts, she might call the cops. How truthful should memoirs be, and which details are better left out? At Mrs. Dalloway's (2904 College Ave., Berkeley) on Jan. 27, meet Linda Joy Myers, whose new edition of Becoming Whole: Writing Your Healing Story answers such ethical questions for the would-be memoirist. Participants from some of Myers' past workshops will also be on hand to describe how they found the courage to put their own pasts into print. 2 p.m.
