A double standard
Thanks for your thoughtful comments on the diatribe published by Becky O'Malley. Although I disagree with her, I can understand her peculiar point of view. However, I wonder how faithful she really is to that particular view. I suspect that while she apparently didn't hesitate to publish hatred directed at Jews and Israel, I doubt she would dare print a piece as equally hateful toward Muslims. Whereas Jews and others bombarded her with complaining letters and phone calls, if she published a writer's similar diatribe directed against Islam her life would probably be in danger. She might even find herself beheaded for insulting Islam.
