LCD Soundsystem

When: Thu., June 3, 9 p.m. 2010

A factor four dance hurricane will sweep into the Fillmore (1807 Geary Blvd., San Francisco) on Thursday, June 3, when James Murphy's LCD Soundsystem brings new album This Is Happening to San Francisco for the first time. Murphy is quite possibly the most famous name in New York dance thanks to iconic tracks like "Losing My Edge" and "Daft Punk Is Playing My House." He's so big, in fact, that the cooler-than-thou backlash has begun in earnest over his latest LP. Let the haters hate. This Is Happening has "universal acclaim" ratings of 85 out of 100 on macro-critical review aggregator Metacritic.com, and Murphy earned it. Whether it's "Dance Yrself Clean," "PowPow," or the instantly singable "Drunk Girls," This Is Happening should be so happening live you'll need to take Friday off to recuperate. Pow, pow-pow-POW! 9 p.m., $35. Ticketmaster.com
