Language, Poetry, and Rhythm

When: Sun., Jan. 6, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 2008
Price: free

"Acting out" takes on a whole new meaning at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre's family classes, held the first Sunday of every month for parents and kids. In his "Language, Poetry, and Rhythm" class at the NevoEducationCenter(2071 Addison St., Berkeley) on Sunday, Jan. 6, Danny Hoch draws upon hip-hop to show how words, beats, movement, and energy can create a unique mix of poetry, playfulness, and passion onstage. Recommended for ages seven to adult, the class is free -- but book donations (destined for the JohnMuirElementary School library) are encouraged. 11 a.m. BerkeleyRep.org
