Peter Bratt wrote the screenplay and directed his brother Benjamin in a low-key, eminently forgettable homies-in-the-hood yarn about a conflicted ex-con named Che (B. Bratt) trying his best to raise his headstrong teenage son Jesse (Jeremy Ray Valdez) in San Francisco’s Mission district, despite the presence of every single cliché that’s ever been used in a Latino urban drama. Lowriders, alcoholism, interracial romance, gang bullies, gay hysteria – the list goes on and on. So does the movie. With Erika Alexander and Max Rosenak (117 min.).
