Knight of the Burning Pestle - Nearly Shakespeare in the Park

When: Saturdays, Sundays. Continues through Sept. 4 2017
Phone: 510-649-5999
The first parody written in English and the first to break the 4th wall, “The Knight of the Burning Pestle” features the audience interrupting “The London Merchant” in favor of adventures starring the apprentice grocer Rafe as “The Knight”. Join in the fun as the antics of the "audience" and the consternation of "the players" tickle the funny bones of all ages. The production is free of charge and performed in the classic John Hinkel Park Amphitheatre – bring pillows or low lawn chairs - enjoy a picnic and a play as we celebrate together the last few weeks of summer!
