Kimball’s Carnival Closes "For Good"

Jack London district venue Kimball’s Carnival — one of Oakland's few remaining R&B/hip-hop clubs — has closed its doors. Instagram user actualglenn tipped us off to the closure, and a post two days ago on Kimball’s' Facebook profile confirmed it: “It finally close for good now Kimball had a good run now we are at e one.” No one answered the phone at Kimball’s — which has suffered from a reputation of violence over the years — but the mention of “e one” appears to be a reference to the East Oakland billiard hall/sports bar/comedy club E One Entertainment.
