Kev Choice Ensemble Plays Yoshi's Oakland

Thu., Jan. 16 2014
Price: $17 Adv./$20 Door
Pianist. Emcee. Producer. Bandleader. Kev Choice wears many hats. Not too many classically-trained pianists who hold Master’s degrees in Music, can rock microphones with blazing-hot 16s. Such versatility comes natural to Choice, whose diverse array of influences ranges from Prince to A Tribe Called Quest to Stevie Wonder to McCoy Tyner to Ravel. In previous years he has been named "Best Musician" and "Most Multi-Talented" by EastBay Express. When not touring as keyboardist with the likes of Lauryn Hill to The Coup, Kev has always set out to establish his solo career. Choice and his up to 14 piece ensemble plus notable special guest, will be celebrating the release of his new project "Oakland Riviera". "Oakland Riviera" is a part jazz-influenced instrumental, part melodic hip-hop exposition, composed and produced by Kev Choice.
