This Thursday, head to 7th West for an evening of lo-fi hip-hop: therapeutic smooth beats perfect for studying, working, or chilling out. This genre has gained millions of followers on streaming platforms like Spotify and YouTube, and one of the biggest lo-fi hip-hop DJs right now is Kero One. A Korean-American rapper, DJ, and producer from the Bay Area, Kero One has been on the chill-hop music scene since the early 2000s, and even produced the track “Ordinary Love” for Korean rapper Park Kyung. On this tour, which Plug Label touts as the first-ever lo-fi/chill beats tour, Kero One is dusting off his vinyl collection for a rare all-analog set. Joining him is Ninjoi, a producer and singer from Queens who draws inspiration from Japan’s jazzy mellow hip-hop beats of the early 2000s. Get tickets on Eventbrite.
