Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), and a few of their superhero pals get together to combat a beastly invader named Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds), and it’s pretty unremarkable – another hectic fight rehashed from the DC Comics vault in a shower of sparks, with a built-in climactic plug for the inevitable sequel. But there’s a redeeming facet: Wonder Woman, once again played by actress Gal Gadot. We end up wishing the other guys would vanish and let her stay on screen by herself. Only die-hard comics fans need apply. Directed by Zack Snyder (300, Sucker Punch) from a screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, adapted from the work of nine other writers (119 min., 2017 rated PG-13)
