Joyce Carol Oates at Mrs. Dalloway’s Literary and Garden Arts

When: Tue., March 6, 7:30 p.m. 2018
Price: Free
One of America’s most prolific and honored writers, Joyce Carol Oates, will return to the East Bay to deliver a reading from her latest short story collection, Beautiful Days. Oates has authored dozens of short story collections and novels since the 1960s — a National Book Award winner and Pulitzer finalists among them. Her latest collection of 13 short stories has already garnered an award as well, winning the Pushcart Prize for the harrowing student visa saga “Undocumented Alien.” Like her past works, Beautiful Days is a captivating book that grapples with themes of connection and disconnect, often with attention to complex relationships between men and women, and always with profound interiority and care. Oates will participate in a Q&A and book signing after the reading.
