When: Thu., Aug. 15, 7 p.m. 2019
n his follow-up to The Sabotage Café, which was named to the 2007 year-end best-of lists of the Chicago Tribune, Rocky Mountain News and the Philadelphia City Paper, as well as being awarded the 2008 Grub Street Fiction Prize, Revolutionaries has Furst digging deeper in the American counter-culture. The book follows Fred Snyder, the only son of a revolutionary icon Lenny Snyder, at middle age and resenting his father and his influence. We watch Lenny as he organizes Hippies, stages stunts, and gradually loses his leading role as the Sixties start slipping away. Fred remembers all of it in this saga that is both an intimate portrait of a father and son, and an allegory for America past.
