Re: “John Yoo Really Is Off the Hook

Yoo will be cooked next week when the DoJ's Office of Professional Responsibility issues its report on the conduct of Bush-era lawyers at the Office of Legal Counsel. It's going to be devastating to OLC lawyers, including Yoo and Jay Bybee, now a Federal Judge in San Francisco.

Dean Edley at UC-Berkeley's law school recently opined to the Chronicle of Higher Education that Yoo could lose is tenure if he was found to have violated the school's "ethical canons." While that's hardly a huge shift from his previous position, it gives him an out that I actually think he'll be forced to recognize once the shitstorm of the OPR report comes out.

Expect disbarment and a loss of tenure. War crimes conviction? I'd love to see it, but not holding my breath...
