Re: “Alice Waters, Inc.

The WSJ's Saturday "Pursuits" section has some brilliant food coverage, including Eric Felten's column devoted to cocktails and all things boozy, "How's Your Drink?" Then again, considering the paper's "Power Tables" column is a weekly investigation (complete with color diagrams) into the "A" place to sit in dining rooms from LA to Boston, Alice could be angling for some new, cash-flush customers at Chez Panisse. We want to be there the night Trump and Tim Robbins both happen to show up for pan-fried sand dabs with sauce gribiche.

Re: “How to Lose Your Appetite: Surf Restaurant Sanitation Reports

Alameda County's site is clunky and hard to navigate. Go to acgov.org and click on Restaurant Inspection Results on the Other Services menu and let me know if you can get it to work--I haven't been able to. You'll notice that Berkeley is missing. It has its own inspection reports on the City of Berkeley site here: http://www.ci.berkeley.ca.us/environmentalhealth/inspections.asp Oh, and if you're looking for some dirt on Chez Panisse (sorry, you won't find any), you'll have to enter "Chez Pannisse" in the search field. What's up with that, Berkeley inspectors?
