Re: “A Touch of Tantra

Hi Katy

It may be a little late to leave a comment on this article, but hey - the article still comes up when Googling tantra, so why not.

A good article. I'm sure I'm not the only one that, by default, associates the word tantra with the sexual as that is what gets written about most - especially at the surface of our world.

I like the way you gave some discrimination to the 'sex workers' vs. the 'not just your orgasm' people. Tantra, erotic energy and desire are powerful forces that are greatly repressed and, consequently, mostly enmeshed in a lot of physical, mental and emotional unconscious chaos.

I found the book (I have no affiliation with the author) Tantra: Beyond Sex to be of value in doing just that - looking beyond tantra as just sex. I'm also interested in this upcoming retreat on The Tantra of Everyday Life which looks like it too will work with tantra, tantric exercises, and body energies in ways not associated so directly with sexual energies.

What I like most about your article is how it clearly illustrates how powerful personal experience can be when we are more open to all of our energies.
