Comedy, Horror, Science fiction
Contains all the ingredients for Stoned Late Show success: A pair of slacker guys (Rob Mayes and Chase Williamson); zombies; rapidly moving cuts of meat; beer in every scene; bugs; hallucinations by the truckload; a mind-bending psychedelic drug called Soy Sauce; and most importantly, a pedigree. This amiable comic-horror doodad is based on David Wong’s sci-fi cult novel, adapted by director Don Coscarelli (Bubba Ho-Tep) into the kind of movie bleary-eyed Sundance attendees can appreciate at the end of a six-film day, running on fumes. All others, take it under advisement. Nice bit part by Paul Giamatti (100 min.)
Director: Don Coscarelli
Producer: Brad Baruh, Don Coscarelli, Andy Meyers, Roman Perez, Paul Giamatti, Daniel Carey and Dac Coscarelli
Cast: Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, Paul Giamatti, Clancy Brown, Glynn Turman, Doug Jones, Daniel Roebuck, Tai Bennett, Allison Weissman, Fabianne Therese, Jonny Weston and Jimmy Wong
