Joel Salatin

When: Mon., March 31, 6:30 p.m. 2014
Thanks to a starring role in Michael Pollan’s slow-food manifesto The Omnivore’s Dilemma, Joel Salatin of Virginia’s Polyface Farm may be one of the most famous farmers in America (at least as far as Berkeleyans are concerned). This week, he’ll speak at Wheeler Hall (UC Berkeley campus) as part of Pollan’s ultra-popular edible Education 101 class, which he co-teaches with Raj Patel. Although the class is already enrolled by 500 (very lucky) undergrads, 200 tickets are reserved for the public for each lecture. Act fast — or just make like a real college kid and wait till the lecture goes up online.
