Re: “Vote Kalb or Wicks for Assembly District 15”
Could not agree more. Ms Goodwin has got it right. We have enough lawmakers from the club of establishment Democrats such as Buffy and Dan. We don't need any more of them.
Instead, we need the sort of problem-solver Jovanka Beckles is. She LISTENS, and then she ACTS according to the needs of constituents. Because she listens, Richmond has the first rent control law passed in CA in 30 years; a minimum wage that will hit $15 in January; a Safe Return project to assist the formerly incarcerated reintegrate into our community, and a ban on the box from applications for work with the city or it's contractors requiring applicants to admit, first thing, to a conviction.
That Jovanka champions these issues signifies the kind of diversity she brings to representing the people of Assembly District 15. Diversity sorely lacking in Sacramento. The East Bay Express needs feet on the street to understand the groundswell of support for Jovanka Beckles. People are fed up with business as usual, want no more corporate politicians, and, instead, choose the hope a person brings who treads where the Express does not.
