If you’ve ever listened to comedian Jo Koy, than you probably feel like you know his mother. Many of his funniest jokes revolve around his over-the-top impression of his mother, as he relays his strange childhood stories. There’s the joke on his latest Netflix special about how his mom always yelled at him. “The only language my mom spoke was yell!” He’s uploaded videos of his actual mom, like on one YouTube video that’s garnered over 3 million views, where he takes her to a Filipino buffet and she explains everything wrong with it. But the more he shows videos of her, the more obvious it is that he inherited his goofy sense of humor from her. His humor is always daring and inviting, as he jokes about his family, makes fun of oversensitive kids and makes fun of Asian stereotypes.
