Re: “A Worker's Life Under H&R Block

I am currently a H&R Block employee. Tax knowledge is one thing but knowing how to deliver it is a completely different thing. You need confidence. the writer of this story has no confidence, and just seems disillusioned by not making thousands of dollars in bonuses. I used to walk away with $15,000 bonuses every season. My first year I got $1700 as a bonus. In my second year $6500, then $15,000 had been the average for 8 years after that before I moved into a management role where my bonus has been reduced but my benefits are huge.
You can't expect H&R Block to pay more than $20 regardless of how qualified you think you are in your first year. People lie remember. They think they are better than they actually are.
