Jewelry-Making Workshop

When: Mon., Dec. 17, 4 p.m. 2007
Price: free

Gifts mean more when you make them yourself, even if the recipient is ... well, yourself. Crafting personalized jewelry is a fun and (if you skip the real rubies and diamonds) affordable way to show you care, whether the object d'art in question is a coiled-wire bracelet or a choker spelling out "I RULE" in beads. At the Oakland Public Library's West Oakland Branch (1801 Adeline St., Oakland) on Dec. 17, local designer and entrepreneur Chelsee Robinson leads a free jewelry-making workshop for teens. Bring only your hands; materials are provided. 4 p.m.
