I think the CEO is taking appropriate action and applaud his openness. Unfortunately, there will always be descriptions involving race. It is pointless to warn people of a suspicious or dangerous person if all you do is give estimated height, age, clothing, etc. Saying, for example, that "a white solicitor harangued me at my door for not signing his petition", is far different from saying "A black kid in a hoodie walked down my street. Lock your doors!" Lets give credit to the CEO for trying to walk a difficult line.
