In 2003, San Francisco artist Jeff Root started handcrafting little cloth creatures which he dubbed "Woollyhoodwinks." The wide-eyed toys were instantly popular, first in Root's circle and then beyond. With they help of fellow artist Scott Runcorn, they're now the stars of a series of children's books.
