Of course the Feds are saying that they will fight it if it passes - that's their job! Do people really think the Feds were going to just shrug as CA passes such a landmark legislation? It doesn't matter how awesome or sucky the Prop is, it's going to be a difficult mess to sort out no matter what - so might as well get it done with now. There is no precedent for Prop 19 so waiting for 'something better' is pointless. You have to start somewhere. Prop 19 is that somewhere.
