Form an artsy synth-pop band in Germany and you're gonna be compared to Kraftwerk. There's just no way around it. Subject to its share of facile name-dropping since forming in 1995, Berlin's Jeans Team good-naturedly resists the trend by crafting an image not of cold industrialism and man-machines, but of playfulness and unabashed humanity. Publicity shots show Jeans Team in country attire with folk instruments at hand, looking more like a Dixieland jazz band than a fatalistic techno outfit. Its song "Oh Bauer," remixed to sound straight off the Kraftwerk assembly line, is actually an homage to the simple, idyllic life of a farmer. Go figure. The band gives its first show of a brief North American tour at the Rickshaw Stop's Club Loaded (155 Fell St., San Francisco) on Friday, Jan. 4. With Sleazemore, Rchrd Oh?!, and DJ Audrock. 10 p.m., $10.
