Re: “Dianne Feinstein's Scientist Rebuked

The claim that slanted/biased science is being used to skew results has not and remains unproven regarding harm to Drakes Estero. The National Academy of Scientists published a review in 2010 of all available scientific studies and found that no harm has been established by the raising of Pacific Ocean native oysters in the estuary. In fact Drakes Estero remains one of the two class five bodies of water for purity, on the West Coast. The Harbor Seal population has exploded in the last forty years and they seem to only be disturbed by kayakers who violate the law by approaching them. I would point out that Ms. Victoria Hanson doth project to much when she uses"Tea Party birthers" to describe her lack of knowledge.I have lived, studied, and treked Point Reyes for almost fifty years. All the scientists I have known have praise for the oyster farming in the Estero. And that was when it was a sloppy farm called Johnson's.What an oyster is is a filter feeder. They are like small pool filters working 24/7 filtering the estuary. And as Al Molina, Professor of Marine Biology on Pt. Reyes told all his students the oysters act as canaries in a coalmine because they are the first animal to indicate contamination or pollutants . Also the farm is not in the bounderies of the Marine Wilderness. It is adjacent to the bounderies. Please go and read the N.P.S. maps. Also check out N.A.S. report from 2010. Dont be an Ostrich.
