JD’s is part 1970s diner, part backyard deck, with a dash of pirate ship. The walls and beams of this funky, oddly cheery diner are covered in bad jokes and pearls of wisdom. People come for the all-day breakfast and stay for the burgers and Reubens at lunch. As the name attests, few leave without a slice of house-baked pie; pecan is the house specialty.

Hours: 7 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.; dinner 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Fri.
