Re: “Rapper Lil B Curses James Harden to Help the Warriors go to the NBA Finals

And the East Bay Express has officially stooped to the level of Star Magazine & Daily Mail. Can't for the expose on Kool John pouring syrup out over the Coliseum and now the A's stay in Oakland.

Re: “West Oakland Councilmember Involved in House-Flipping Scheme

The hypocrisy of this article is overwhelmingly burgeoning. Not only does the EBX ignore the non profit efforts by LGM, but tries to demonize her as a greedy profiteer... this is a futile attempt at making a big deal over nothing. The EBX claims to be a newspaper that "is a local alternative to mainstream media ... that exposes wrongdoing and gives a voice to the voiceless" so I suppose accepting advertising money from the largest purveyors of gentrification from Chevron to overpriced restaurants and cafes for hipsters and the capitalist class is justified, how exactly? Cut the bull, the EBX does more to uplift and facilitate gentrification than LGM will ever be able to do with a few house flips a year. Also in the same light, EBX posting Black Lives Matter full page spreads doesnt "make-up" for the dozens of "local" businesses who have displaced residents and reinforce an egregious cost of living- then come advertise on your Weekly.

Re: “Vote Yes on Oakland’s Measure Z and No on Berkeley’s Measure R

Really disappointed in the EBX endorsement of Marie Gilmore for Alameda mayor. I witnessed her, on two separate occasions, refer to people who appeared houseless as "leeches" and "cockroaches" in terms of her policies shes been so pro-business she might as well be a Republican. Nothng good will come of the Crown Beach development she supports, just further displacement. I highly encourage everyone to get familar with the campaign of Trish Spencer for Alameda mayor.
