Re: “Oakland Lieutenant Accuses Top Cop of Corruption”
I hope the new president does do a good job. People do change though-I remember when Tucker was "interim chief" and everyone hoped they'd get rid of him & go with HoJo. Now they all say even if he does eventually take over that things will be just as bad because he (hoJo) has changed. There are quite a few officers that do feel that Valledon is sort of dropping the ball though - and maybe that's all he can do since he is retiring soon. I don't know what the BS is about in this article - (not very objective at all) but I did just read that Tucker is now being investigated by IA. thank god!
Sorry if I sound emtional - but I HATE Tucker and I'm one of those "family members" whose homelife was screwed over for the past year. Of course it started long before when Tucker came in & began disbanding the special units. (He really doesn't care about the department at all!) I also wouldn't say that Valledon hates reporters either - officers aren't really supposed to talk to the press - but I remember seeing him do it -on TV no less- a while back about officer morale and the 12 hour shifts. We were a little surprised - but then again he's retiring so what could OPD do?
I'm glad some "people" I know are "bailing" soon so they can be happy again. Valledon might even be a bit relieved as well.
