Documentarian Davis Guggenheim, maker of An Inconvenient Truth, hit upon the happy idea of inviting three rock guitarists from different generations — Jack White of the White Stripes and other bands, The Edge of U2, and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin — to jam together and reminisce about their romance with the axe. They all get along just fine. Not surprisingly White turns out to be the wild card, a Detroit kid who can rig a slide guitar out of a bottle, a two-by-four, some wire, and a cheap amp. Their unplugged version of the Band’s “The Weight” is worth the price of admission (97 min.).
