In Harmony's Way

When: Sat., Dec. 20, 8 p.m. 2008
Price: $20.50-$21.50

For those who like to mix their holiday carols with British Isles drinking songs, rounds, and Appalachian folk favorites, the amateur folk choir In Harmony's Way has recruited its favorite professional voices to lead them in a night of joyous singing where performers and audience merge. The East Bay choir hosts its Mid-Winter Sing on Friday, Dec. 21, at the Freight & Salvage, with solo singers including Shay and Michael Black of Ireland's famous Black Family, Wake the Dead's Sylvia Herold, sea chantey singers from the Hyde Street Pier (Peter Kasin and Richard Adrianowicz), Dave Swan and Doug Olsen (both of Oak, Ash & Thorn), rounds-singer Lani Herrmann, Scottish-English masters Allan MacLeod and Dick Holdstock, and more. 8 p.m., $18.50, $19.50.
